My Story
I have been interested in art since
before I can remember. I started drawing at the age of 1 and have continued my
adventure with art ever since. At first it was my first love – cars. I would
spend hours drawing vehicles. That was my first true passion. I would always
make sure there was a steering wheel, a seat and, ALWAYS, a gear stick. As my
family have been naturally pet and animal oriented, I managed to develop love
for animals too.
I was growing up in rural areas in
the 80s Poland as my dad used to be a horse-riding instructor, and all his
friends were either horse professionals, dog breeders, or both. I grew up among
animals. I tried to rebel when my dad took me with him to work, but in the end,
I succumbed and learnt how to ride a horse.
We always had a pet dog, later, also a cat. My first furry friend was a rough
collie, named Amahl Sheik. He wanted him so much he spent two months’ worth of
salary on him. Amahl was an amazing companion who saved me once when I was 5
years old and was attacked by a raging rooster that jumped on my head and
started pecking my eyes. Amahl sadly passed too early due to food poisoning,
before his first dog show, which, I am sure he would win.
Later on we moved
to a beautiful little village with a huge inland port and 3 stables. And this
is when we got our next dog. An Irish Setter named Bast (I still believe his
name was a typo and it should read BEAST). A chicken nemesis, a horse nuisance,
his soul was absolutely WILD. Everyone knew him. He was a celebrity but
one day he disappeared for good. For years my dad would check on EVERY shelter
he saw but we never saw Bast again.
Out of curiosity and to utilise my talents, I got interested more and more in
art and exploring different styles. I mainly used pencils and watercolours;
they were my primary tools. I loved comic books and took a lot of inspiration
from artists like Alex Saviuk, Sal Buscema or Frank Miller. I was also inspired
by such artists as Witkacy, Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picassol, Norman Rockwell or
Basquiat. Some of them inspired me in regards to style, some, in approach,
mission and the message.
I am not a big fan of realism but was
more inclined towards something with a twinge of abstraction in it. I liked
fast, sharp strokes (hence the name ) a
bit of chaos and aggression in the painting.
I love digital art as
I discovered unlimited possibilities Photoshop can give. It is still a unique
hand made piece of art which is printed on high quality canvas and made in
style that is, I promise you that, exceptional.
I started drawing animals when I
decided to give my dad a present for his birthday. It was a drawing of a
running horse, and he loved it so much he would show it to all the family and
his friends any chance he had. This got me thinking on how happy I can make
people by providing them an everlasting memory of their beloved
pet.
So this is why my main focus is pet
portraits. I know first hand how hard it is to lose a pet, like
I mentioned before I had to deal with it and it was never easy. I can't really
express with words how touched I am seeing my clients (animal lovers exactly
like me) thanking me for the gift it represents to see their best friend on the
wall that they will never forget.
Please have a look at the variety of
products I have created and tell me, how would you like to see your dog dress
as, a Colonel or maybe a renaissance lady? Choice is yours and possibilities
endless – you demand, I supply. If you have your own idea of it, DO tell me and
I will do my best to make your dream come true and make sure your buddy will be
ever-present at their best/ funniest looks.
